About Us

Our Mission

Sound Choices Pregnancy Clinic empowers women to make life-affirming pregnancy decisions through free medical services, education, and Christ-centered support, which lead to sound physical and spiritual futures.

Our History

Sound Choices Pregnancy Clinic is the country’s first crisis pregnancy center established by a church. Originally known as The Columbus Crisis Pregnancy Center, Sound Choices was founded in 1981 by Rev. Andy Merritt and Edgewood Baptist Church.

Rev. Merritt was instrumental in helping establish hundreds of crisis pregnancy centers throughout the United States and spent many years supporting these ministries in their life-saving work.

In 2007, Focus on the Family’s Option Ultrasound program invested more than $40,000 into our center, allowing us to begin offering free on-site ultrasound services to abortion-vulnerable women. Along with this significant expansion of services, we adopted the name Sound Choices Pregnancy Clinic.

Today, limited ultrasound services are provided by our sonographer and registered nurses under the supervision of our Medical Director, Dr. Banks Carroll, and Radiologist, Dr. Cam Kersey.
